    Brassware brand Crosswater has launched Waldorf, its first ever complete collection of brassware and sanitaryware.

     

    The company said the launch of its Art Deco inspired collection meets a growing demand from the market for more “classically-styled” bathroom products and is part of its ongoing commitment to support its retail network. It features a large selection of brassware and complementary ceramics including a variety of washbasins, WCs and a freestanding bath.

     

    Speaking during the launch at its new £19 million UK headquarters in Dartford, Kent, Crosswater’s commercial manager Marten Baker said: “This is the first time that we’ve developed a complete bathroom collection and it meets the demand from our customers, and the market, for a classically styled product. Waldorf makes this style of product accessible to more people and gives our customers alternatives that weren’t there before, at a much more competitive price.

     

    “One thing we continue to do is listen to our customers and react very quickly to their changing needs whether that means developing and launching new products, improving the service we give or increasing our marketing activities.”

     

    A complementary range of furniture and thermostatic showers are due to be launched later this year, which Crosswater group chairman David Hance (pictured) said will “extend the possibilities of the Waldorf collection even further”.

     

    Hance added: “We recognised that there was demand in the market for more classic products and reacted to our customers’ feedback. It’s taken a significant amount of investment to bring this product to market. To support our retailers further, the collection is backed up by a strong set of marketing tools including new brochures and POS.

     

    “Our sales are up by 11% compared with last years’ figures and we’re 5% ahead of budget. In June alone we were 26% up on the retail side, compared with the same month last year, it’s phenomenal.”

     

     

  • 'High Value Sales to boost bathroom Market' - Bathroom retailers are set to benefit from a move towards higher-value bathrooms, the latest report from MTW Research suggests. The shift is supported by installers seeking to enhance their reputations by specifying higher value brand names. The study considers the development of comprehensive solutions to hold significant opportunity. The report says minimalist designs remain the most popular, though the current retro trend is driving added value. According to MTW, the recession has cost the bathroom retail market around £250 million and had the recession been avoided, the market would now be worth £1bn.
  • Kitchen and Bathroom Worktops Market Growing

     

    The Kitchen and Bathroom worktops market is estimated to have reached a value of more than £200 million in 2015, according to new figures.

    The latest 'Domestic Kitchen and Bathroom Worktops Market Report' from AMA research found that the market has experienced steady growth since 2011 as a result of increasing consumer confidence. The worktop market has also grown faster than the kitchen furntiture and bathroom products markets. Key influences on this market have been the emphasis on aesthetics and stylish design, the blurring distinction between kitchen and dining room, a move towards open-plan living, the demand for professional style kitchens and appliances, and a trading-up to higher value materials and products.

  • Tesco closes kitchen and bathroom fitting business 11th November 2014, 06:40pm Tesco is closing its kitchen and bathroom fitting business, following a review of its relationship with distributor Mark Two, which has run the venture since it launched. The retail giant said in a statement that it was 'committed to ensuring we do the right thing for customers affected and are in the process of contacting all of them'. It follows Tesco being 'named and shamed' on BBC1 show Don't Get Done Get Dom in April, after a handful of customers were left with unfinished kitchens and bathrooms after struggling to get Mark Two or Tesco to resolve problems with either specification or installation. A Facebook page, 'Tesco Kitchens/Mark Two a travesty', has been set up by dissatisfied customers, who said they had been told Tesco would make a further announcement on Friday at 5pm. Jackie Hopkins wrote on the Facebook page that ordering a kitchen through Tesco for her elderly mother was “a very expensive mistake”. Another customer, Carole Fraser Menzies, added that her experience had been a “disaster”. However, Janice Vickers said on the Facebook page that she was “offered a full refund” by Tesco, adding that “they were very helpful”. Mark Two holds FIRA Gold Installation Certification for fitted kitchen and bathroom furniture.
